K3 Band of Texas rocked Six Flags Over Texas- Arlington during 3 live concerts on the Texas Arena Stage.
11/26/11 Dallas: Led by award winning pre-teen performers Kaylen, Kelsey & Kristen, the 7 member K3 Sisters Band is a unique example of a family pop music band that is connecting to local communities in ways that are making a difference. For instance, on Fri., Dec. 2 at 7PM the band is hosting a holiday benefit show at Garland's Plaza Theater (521 W. State St., Texas) the proceeds of which will benefit GISD fine arts programs. In addition to award winning pop, rock & holiday music by K3, the Dallas Highland Dancers of Mesquite, Texas will join in the fun with authentic Scottish Highland dancing of all age groups.

"We really want to inspire and motivate children and adults to study the fine arts such as music and dance as a way of enriching our culture and ultimately giving back to our communities," says Jamie Shipman-Kassab former GISD music educator, producer of K3's shows, mom of the girls, and husband of Bruce Ray, the band's manager. "In a era of fine arts cutbacks we are dedicated to promoting the arts, and helping the needy." The band has performed in dozens of Garland public school assemblies, and on 1/26/12 is delivering a high energy educational show to needy Title 1 schools at the 6,000 seat Garland Special Events Center.

This summer K3 was featured at a 9/11 gala memorial event in Sunnyvale, TX where they performed patriotic music in a 3,000 seat church auditorium to a standing ovation of cheering patriots and fans. The event was a benefit to raise funds for Heroes of Mesquite, a non-profit that plans to develop a veteran's memorial for local servicemen & women. As a result, many donations were received.

On 11/11/11 the K3 Sisters Band headlined a community-wide benefit show at Sunnyvale's Town Hall where they received food and chews for the "residents" of the local animal shelter. The effort produced a bonanza of donated dog and cat food for the bottom of the food chain in our society.

Not surprisingly, the word about the girls is spreading fast. The Great Wolf Lodge (GW) in Grapevine, TX has featured the band several times at their world-class resort to entertain their visitors, and in December the band will be headlining GW's Christmas tree lighting extravaganza to raise money for non-profit Big Brothers & Big Sisters.

In addition to looking forward to three December shows at Six Flags Over Texas, the band's spirit of local community service remains alive and well as the girls and band members continue to serve area-wide senior citizens by performing regularly at assisted care facilities and nursing homes such as Garland's Abba Care, Mesquite Rehab, and Summer Ridge. end//
